Adhesive Capsulitis aka Frozen Shoulder
Are you looking for the secret sauce to eliminate your frozen shoulder pain? Well here goes it. There are 4 muscles that can cause you to have a lot of shoulder pain and loss of mobility.
Here are the muscles
The latissimus dorsi muscles, known as the lats, are the large V-shaped muscles that connect your arms to your vertebral column. They help protect and stabilize your spine while providing shoulder and back strength. Your lats also help with shoulder and arm movement and support good posture.
The subscapularis is the largest, strongest muscle of the rotator cuff. The rotator cuff muscles are important in shoulder movement and help maintain glenohumeral joint stability. The subscapularis muscle lies at the anterior surface of the scapula.
Supraspinatus is the smallest of the 4 muscles which comprise the Rotator Cuff of the shoulder joint specifically in the supraspinatus fossa. It travels underneath the acromion.
The Medial Deltoid is surrounded by the Anterior Deltoid and Posterior Deltoid. It is the section of Deltoid that is most prominent on the shoulder and gives the shoulder its rounded appearance.
The latissimus dorsi and the subscapularis become shortened limiting the movement in the following ways. This muscle is able to pull the inferior angle of the scapula in various directions, producing movements on the shoulder joint; internal rotation, adduction, and extension of the arm. When the arm is raised, it draws the humerus forward and downward. It is a powerful defense to the front of the shoulder joint, preventing displacement of the head of the humerus. Shortening of these muscles makes your should movement inefficient and painful. Normal movement is restricted and progressively worsens.
Supraspinatus pain is felt at the side of the shoulder in the middle section of the deltoid. In some cases, it can be felt further round the front of the shoulder. A weak supraspinatus further weakens the deltoid in the medial aspect. So you have 2 weak muscles and 2 short muscles.
Core Health addresses your frozen should by strengthening the weak muscles and stretching the short muscles. This makes for faster healing and greater mobility.
